Boracay 2013

I WAS ON vacation in Boracay Island, Philippines a week before Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda (widely believed to be the strongest typhoon to ever hit land) damaged it. The good news is that the island was able to recover quickly from the destruction.

I took a few photos of the calm before the storm, my first attempt at trying to learn photography — something I’m not really good at.

Took some pics of our amazing hotel suite too, which was located at the highest point of Boracay. The nearly 360 degree view of the island from our unit, aptly called The View, was just breathtaking.

  1. “Not really good at all” my ass. Such beautiful pictures, and fortunate that you could photograph before Mother Nature roared. And if I ever go there, I need to get the name of that hotel…

    • wow, thank you for the very generous compliments, Nadia! but with all modesty, i really do envy talented photographers, especially those here at wordpress.

yeah, you should go visit the place one day. the name of the hotel is Tanawin Resort and Luxury Apartments. if you ever stay there, be sure to get the 3BR Sky Blue or 2BR The View penthouse suites for the terrific view and are not that expensive. humungous units, jacuzzi in the balcony, 70in TV, etc. it was worth it.

  2. If you are not really good at it, then I am a monkey’s uncle. Hold on .. itchy armpit I need to scratch … hehe kidding. These are pretty good. The only one that I would say has a problem, is the one where the surfboarder got in on the act lol. These are really good I Like the colouring on the sunset ones, and the brightness of the others. The place you stayed looks fantastic
